A Few Tips to Remember:
- A testimony is your story about your encounter with Jesus. When you share your story, it gives people hope that God can do the same for them.
How do I start?
- Ask yourself, “Why do I love Jesus?”
- What has Jesus done for me that no one else can do?
- Answer those questions in a story and tell the story in 2 minutes or less
How to Prepare it?
- Start with a great Introduction! One sentence that captures everyone’s attention.
- Next talk about your life before your encounter with Jesus
- Mention 1 or 2 sins that God convicted you of
- Tell of how your realized your need to repent
- Then, tell what happened during your encounter with God
- Explain how you talked to God, how you repented, and how you gave your life to Christ
- Now you share what you’ve experienced after you’ve encountered God
- Explain how Jesus changed your life, showing the contrast from how you were before
- Conclusion
- Declare in a single sentence something that will challenge your listeners. (ex. Jesus changed my life and I know he can do the same for you).
A Few Tips to Remember:
- Limit your story to 2 minutes
- Talk about Jesus, not just God
- Share your story with passion and sincerity
- Prepare, Practice, Proclaim
