GREEN BAY CHI ALPHA

Session 8 - Fall Blitz 101

What Does it Take?

  1. WORK
  1. MORE WORK
  1. A LITTLE MORE WORK
What seems EASY for everyone else, will take a lot of WORK for you.

Things to Keep in Mind

  1. We do this together as a family
  1. We are all part of a community. We’re not competing for contacts; we are a team. If one of us fails, we all fail. When one wins, we all win.
  1. One person may not have the best connection with you but may have a great connection with someone in your D-Group.
  1. No little people, no little places.

Fall Kickoff Strategy

EVERY DAY of the first four weeks are prime days to meet new people and hang out with them. This means you’re showing up & “on duty” all the time.
  • Every MEAL you eat, you’re eating with people
  • You’re BRINGING your friends with you to Walmart/Festival/Dollar Tree to shop or home to do laundry
  • You’re PLAYING Ultimate Frisbee together
  • You’re SHOWING them around campus
  • GOING to welcome week events together
  • INVITE them into your friend circles
Once you’ve gotten to know someone and have made some type of connection, they will be more likely to come to hang out with you, attend your Core Group, or come with you to Large Group.

Where Should I Meet New People?

Anywhere on Campus

How Do I Meet People?

  1. PRAY that God will lead you to the faithful guys or girls that He would desire you to pour your life into. Your recruitment starts now—in prayer!
  1. Be extremely INTENTIONAL at all times.
  1. MAKE CONTACT with as many new people as possible.
  1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF!
  1. Take a PERSONAL INTEREST in the student.
  1. CATEGORIZE the student as GREEN, YELLOW, or RED
  1. INVITE the person to come at a time and place that you have predetermined.
  1. PRAY with eyes wide open—trust God to perform a miracle before your eyes.

What Are Our Wins?

  1. For students to have a real relationship with Jesus
  1. To make disciples who make disciples
  • 4-5 people per leader in your Core Group
  • Send 2 people to Apprenticeship

How do I Meet Random People?

  • Most of your contacts will be people you ALREADY KNOW
  • SMILE and say HELLO
  • Sit down and EAT with them
  • Make a Plan
    • Meet a new person every day
    • Campus bingo
    • Tabling
    • Other ideas:

How does this miracle come into being?

Divine SOVEREIGNTY + Human RESPONSIBILITY
  1. PRAY like it depends on God, and WORK like it depends on you.
  1. PRAY SOME MORE—the prayer of a righteous man [or woman] is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)
  1. PRAY SPECIFICALLY for the people you meet before and during Welcome Week and after the first Chi Alpha Gathering. Begin praying with your co-leaders and be sure that prayer is a major part of your planning meetings!
